HP LaserJet 4 Plus

We have at our office an old hp laserjet 4 plus printer connected to a single port jet-direct print server. We have all of our windows and linux machines printing to it fine via ip addr. 192.168.0.10. When I print to it from my mac no matter what program it prints the first page and then continues to print the same page until you turn off the printer and turn it back on.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

Knowing what OS you have on the Mac will determine what steps to take.

10.2.6

I hooked up a laserjet 6 plus to the same print server and it works fine. It must be something with the printer driver. It prints fine from the linux and windows machines here.

Have you tried the old OS X printer saver Gimp-Print? It is an amazing print driver. I resurrects old printers and malfunctioning print drivers. However, you need to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS (sorry for shouting but it seems a lot of people never follows instructions then rant how something doesn't work right).

Good Luck.

Well yes I have used Gimp-Print. Also, i do read the instructions. If you noticed, I mentioned that I got the printer printing, it just spits out the same page over and over. So don't assume that I am just rushing into it and tell me to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

I just wondered if anybody else ran into this problem. I didn't want to get a lecture...
