HP OfficeJet 5500

I'm using this all-in-one printer using Rendevous via Airport. Since the printer isn't connected to the USB port, the HP setup wizard pops up constantly asking me if I want to install the driver/printer. I've already done so, but the setup wizard only knows that when I'm connected via USB.

Anybody know how to disable the wizard, short of trashing it?.....or is anybody familiar with an HP forum where I might find the answer?

this printer doesn't appear to directly support wireless printing.
Have you tried completely installing the printer with the printer directly connected to your Mac (a normal install), then if the wireless printing works, swap the printer to that connection. The wizard has already run, and shouldn't be a bother now.
Have you downloaded the newest installer, version 6.3.4, I think, released a couple of months ago.

I did install the printer software/driver with it connected to the USB Port, and all features (scanner, fax, etc.) work when connected directly via USB cable to the Mac. The printer works wirelessly with Rendevous, but not using the Airport Extreme USB Port. In fact, when I'm printing in Word and select a printer, I have one HP 5500 setting for Rendevous and another for direct USB printing.

But, this still doesn't get rid of the set-up box that opens ever time the computer wakes up, if I'm not connected via USB to the printer.

I'll look into the newer driver version. Thanks.
