Here is the tip, how the HP OfficeJet G55/85 Driver-Installation for anyone (in Europe, outside USA i think) should work! Til now, i came not to test it, but it seams logical:
Switch System-Language to "U.S.English"
for everyone, who installed in between any driver, have to "deinstall" them now
Install Driver
(actual version should be: 4.0.3, with the dowload via HP-Website)
Then everything should work!

(i'm wonder).... (not to hack about HP, but 5 totally system-failures are not Nothing, for some systems!... it would be nice, if this Tip would stand/warn highly recommended on HP's Webpage, because every Not-American out in the world often has no other choice, than trying to install English versions. Thats not as far as standard!)
But, by the way, i would like to ask, if there has somebody seen the "Scan" Application working, and what stands there in the "Scan Chooser" Application?... in my case Scan failed! Said: "No connection to Device".
Then, what says the TWAIN-Source Chooser of other applications? GraphicConverter offers just a grey (unavailable) "HP scan DS", that did not work.... :-(
