i book g3 freezes very weird please help

Latley my i book g3 has just been freezing and its like all of the screen will stop and then the colors like "bleed" and when i try to restart my screen will be black for a while. Could somebody please help im new to mac's
 
Click on the apple (menu bar top left).
Select "About This Mac" (or something similar - I forget).
Tell us what it says on that pop-up.
