Hi everyone...

I just noticed they came out with a new Macbook pro 2009. I bought a Macbook Pro in Nov 2008 for 2800+...

I was just wondering...Was it worth it?

I love my Macbook Pro, but I feel like I bought one to soon.

Thoughts on 2008 Macbook Pro vs the Macbook Pro 2009??

SD Card Reader doesn't mean much to me so I am not to sad, but bigger HDD and 7 Hour Battery life?

What makes the internal battery better then the external?

This is my first Mac EVER and I just was wondering your thoughts on the matter. I use iMovie 09 for my youtube videos and for some photo/video editing.

I'd say be happy with what you have. I purchased an iMac G5 (revision B) a few weeks before Apple came out with the last iMac G5 model that introduced the built-in iSight camera. Was I a bit irked, sure. But you know what? I still love my iMac G5 and I've accepted my purchase.

Now, were you to have bought this MacBook Pro a few days or a week before they updated it, Apple would have gladly updated you to the newer model. However, too much time has passed at this point and you wouldn't be able to do that. With that said, I'm sure you'll get plenty of life out of your late 2008 MacBook Pro. Enjoy what you have now, and don't succumb to release envy. ;)

For future reference, you can use the following buyer's guide to keep yourself informed:

Oh and yeah: Had you waited until now, you'd feel the same way the _next_ time they update the line. ;) It basically is always the same... And of course, things will change in the future. The next model will probably be better still...

About the battery: While the new one gets 7 hours (and it really _is_ a great battery), you get about 5 and you can buy another to get about 10 with a simple sleep-switch-battery-wakeup process inbetween. Depending on how mobile exactly you need to be, one or the other option is actually better.

15-inch. Starts at $1699

I would say that you paid a little bit more, but regardless, The MBP, Is the computer i want the most, i have a Macbook and i can't wait to get my hands on a MBP, But i prefer the 13.3 Though.

I guess it just depends on what was included with your macbook pro, The new one's battery last 7 hours, and the 17in macbook lasts 8

It starts at a 2.53 Intel Core 2 Duo, and can go up to a 3.06 i think.

Either way, if i were you, I'd still be happy with what i had, it seems like you paid alot though.

I feel like I did pay a lot...

I got the 320 GB HDD, 4 GB Ram, 2.53 GHz, and there was a deal the day after Black Friday where if you bought a mac you would get a Casio Color Printer.

I love my Macbook Pro, but this is my first mac ever and I didn't think about anything new coming out till next year.

I think I paid about 2800-3000 but it was in the mid 2k-late 2k range.

I bought it the 2 days after Thanksgiving so it has been about 6 months.
