I' getting a use Powerbook in a couple of days and i've been told the specs are:-

15.4" Powerbook G4 Titanium
Mac OS X
900mhz CPU
512mb Ram
40gb Hard Drive
DVD/CDRW Combo Drive
Not wireless but can use a Belkin PCMCIA card to make it wireless.

I've tried googling for the exact model but can't find it. I would like to know if it will be capable of running "Tiger" and what it's capabilities will be?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

lowendmac.com highlights the problem you're having.

there was no 900mhz G4 Powerbook. yours is likely the 867mhz model.

also try googling for Mactracker, which is a little application which will tell you absoluelty everything there is to know about that machine, and every other mac.

Thanks for your help everyone, it is the 867mhz version :)

Now i just need to sort out a 54g compatible Airport or PCMCIA wireless card, changing over the 2 x 256mb ram mdules for 2 x 512mb and upgrading the Mac OS 10.3.X "Panther" to Mac OS 10.4.X "Tiger"

Sorry about double posting, it won't happen from now on :)

although an Airport extreme card would be the most elegant 54g solution (it completely integrates inside the book), the PC card would probably be the better choice, as the titanium casing really muffles the signal of the built in airport.
