I cant open Packages!!! :-(

hi, my name is Roger and i have this problem where i cant open packages. When i do open them, they go directly to the contents. Does anyone know what to do about this? And one more thing, is it just me or is "macosx.com" getting so huge all of a sudden? There are so many people in here. Anyways all feedback is welcome and appreciated.

no im sorry i wasnt more specific. Im trying to install the Developer tools through a package (.mpkg). When i click on it twice it just opens the "Contents" folder. Im talking about packages as in installers, not applications. Sorry.

delete your user prefs and restart. Fixed this and similar problems for me...(Apps which suddenly became folders and where unlaunchable)
