I need internet filter help?!?

Hey everybody. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any free or very cheap internet filters for osx safari. I do not want anyone looking at pornography on my computer at all and need a good filter. So far I have not had much luck.

Tiger will bring some parental controls... But that's still some months away. Have you searched Google, versiontracker.com, macupdate.com etc. for software like Net Nanny (not available for OS X, afaik)?

Are you using a dlink router? Some routers allow such kind of filters as well. Dlink calls this option: Parental control. However, you will need to specify the domain iirc.

I have a Netgear router. It can block sites based on their domain or words used on the page.

So far I have not seen or heard of a filter that the pornographers cannot eventually get around one way or another. However, there are ISPs, such as integrity.com, that only allow access to web sites their censors have previously visited and approved. If you want access to a site not on their approved list you submit the URL to them and they make the decision whether or not to allow you access.

Even this draconian level control is not perfect since you can, in some cases, go to a web site and then follow a series of links from that site to others and eventually get to an XXXX rated site.
