My longest working day was 32 hours, when I was producing a local weekly paper and the lines to our press (3 hours drive away) went down on the same day that we took on production of two new papers. That was pure hell.
When I was working nightshift, though, it was different. It was nice to finish the day with breakfast just as everyone is getting out of bed, though you need to be in a quiet neighbourhood. You can pick up bread at the bakers and it will be fresh from the oven. Then, you just sleep all day.
