I have a 12 '' g4, 1.2 mhz seems to power up but no screen...looks like it is in hard drive sleep mode. Sometimes I can get it to chime on, other time it just powers up and the fan runs hard. I have reset the pram and also the PMU. I have taken it down to bare bones. Disconnected the DC-in board and seemed like WOW that was the problem, but within a few moments the screen went a beautiful strip pattern.
I have been looking for a new one on Ebay that has a dead hard drive so I can just swap mine out...and I have seen many units that have this same problem...black screen but power...fan running hard...chimes and starts sometimes but then screen goes black.
So, any suggestions? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
