iBook battery % Jaguar

Since i use Jaguar my iBook battery performs terribly! At 30% I get a warning and 5 minutes later he goes to sleep.

Does this sound familiar?

Is it software or do I need to buy a new battery (169 euro!!!).

Sounds like Jaguar tends to go to sleep earlier, not letting the battery get low... Check out your preferences to see if there is an option relating to this.

It probably isn't the battery if it isn't Nickel-Cadmium, since the NiMH batteries used today don't have memory issues.

My battery started doing things like that after about a year of pretty heavy use. I got a nice new battery, and all is well again. It's quite probable that your battery is just getting a bit worn out.

Mine has actually suddenly been doing that since I've installed Jaguar as well, I don't think my battery is that worn, my iBook is plugged in most of the time. I've had it go to sleep with 43% battery remaining and it would not wake until I plugged it back in. Usually it goes in the 30's but really that's a lot of battery I'd want to use, more than enough to maintain the RAM contents until plug-in! 10.1 used to let me get down to around 10% before perma-sleeping.
