iBook bummer

So am I correct in saying that if the logicboard goes on an ibook in the 3 years of manufacture that Apple will fix it even if you haven't got an Appecare warrenty?

Well, the extension is for the specific problem that is caused by a specific design fault. It says clearly that this is not a general warrantee extension.

It seems though that it is retroactive!

I paid for an eligible repair before the iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program began. Will Apple reimburse me for the cost of the repair?
Yes. Apple will reimburse customers with eligible iBooks for the cost of repairs covered under this program, and will pro-actively contact affected customers where Apple has their contact information.
