iBook Cold and Dead

Hey guys,

My iBook went to sleep last night, and this morning, it won't wake up.

I can't boot it at all.

I haven't been able to try plugging it in yet, maybe the battery is just toast... but I'm 100% sure that it was plugged in all last night as usual.

The iBook behaves as if there isn't a battery in it. Pushing power gives no reaction at all.

It's funny. I usually sleep my iBook so its usually a little bit warm ya know? When I pulled it out of my bag and felt it's cold lifeless body... I knew something was wrong. It's my baby!

Did you check the battery indicator button on the bottom of your iBook? Does it show any lights? If not, your battery must be darn empty

Hey guys when I plugged it in it was okay and the batt was at 0.

I could have SWORN that I charged it last night though!

How old is your iBook? What model? The battery may be dead/dying. Although you can reset the PMU and see if that helps.

The usual recommendation I hear is to fully drain the battery (through use) before charging it so it's "memory" stays as full as possible. If you recharge before it hits zero, the battery may remember it has "less" power storage than it really has over time.

but lithium ion batteries tend to have a low memory effect. Every charging step is actually reducing the capacity of your battery
