Ibook G4 Administrator Password

I have a problem with a computer that i just bought

it´s an ibook g4

i can´t change the password of the administrator because the computer frezzes when i start from the boot cd

the gear image frezzes an i don´t know what to do

i´,m using the instalation disk no 1 from the mac os x 10.3

please helpme

Hello Juan,

When you are booting from the installation disk, are you holding down the "C" key on the keyboard????? If not, push the Power Button and hold down the "C" key at the same time. Keep holding the "C" key until the Apple logo appears. Choose Reset Password from the Installer menu. Select your Mac OS X hard disk volume. Important: Do not select "System Administrator (root)". This is actually a reference to the root user. Do not confuse it with a normal administrator account. Enter a new password and click Save.

If this suggestion does not work take the iBook back. Since you said you just bought it, it's under warranty.
