I bought my iBook in February of this year. It's therefore still quite new! I'm having trouble with my battery. When it gets to about 47% full, the computer just switches off / dies on its own and I then have to plug it in in order to start it up again. Then, when I've restarted it, the battery indicator shows 0%! This has happened twice now.
The second time was about two or three hours ago. Now, it's in the process of recharging. When it got to about 51%, it said it had 2 and a half hours left to go before full, after that it said 5:45, then 6:15, then 7:45, then 8:30 and then finally 9 hours and 9 minutes before full!!! When I checked now, it said 'calculating till full', and as I'm typing these words the amber light turned green and it now says it's 100% fully charged!
How weird is that? What's happening? Do I need a new battery? Is this temporary?
