I`m in!!
hi guys.. im having a terrible problem, i left my ibook downloading some things last night... and when i woked up it was making a really loud noise... a fan noise... then i realized that my ibook was extremly hot... i tried to log in (the screen saver was on, but the screen was off), and nothing happend.. i trid a few more times and nothing... so i turned my mac off (yes, with the power button).. when i put it on again, the hd was making strange noises, and took a lot of time for my mac to boot... so i ran an apple hardware test and throwed me an error in the hd...
5 hs later, turn it on again, and the hd noises where still there, and was a very slugish, but usable... i know i have to change my hd ASAP.. but i want to know some things..
1) has anybody has have this problem??
2) why my ibook did this... i wasnt doing anything very demanding
3) for how long my hd will live?
were i live there are no apple store near by, so i wsa thinking on replacing the hd myself.. but the toshiba hd that came with my ibook is impossible to find...
4) will any other ata100 disk work??
