I have a friend that have an 14.1" iBook, he got it jan-feb 2002. Well the problem is that sometimes the computer wont recognize the combodrive. It's like it's not even there, doesn't show up in systemprofiler or anything same in os 9 as in os X. He's running 10.2.1 and 9.2.2. Some time after a couple of reboots it shows up again or if he just leaves the ibook to rest for a while.
I don't think it's a software problem since it's the same in os 9 as in os x, mayby a bad connector? First I thought it might be when the coputer has been running hot but it accurs when the coputer is cold aswell.
Has anyone experienced this? Would be thankfull for a reply.
On another not, he bought his ibook in the US but lives in Italy, does anyone know if it's still under warranty here in europe?
