Ok, this is a bit weird so need a bit of help here. Have a 2 year old 800mhz g3 ibook. Works, great, has taken more abuse than any prisoner, anywhere guaranteed. Anyhow, about 5 minutes ago i was scanning some word docs and was using the arrow keys and my pinky fingered got shocked. First I though that it was static electricity or i had a fray in the powercord and may have accidentally touched it. So, I unpluged that grounded myself with a cord and can still feel a tingling sensation when my fingers hover underneath the "end" key right arrow and just corner lip of the case. Beside the battery what other electrical connection are under there. And no I am not using the ibook in the pool, shower or the rain at the present time... any clues. The warranty has run out and I don't think Apple would cover this under the logic board problem. Though I don't want everyone starting to sue Apple if their ibooks start exploding.

You might as well take it into your Apple tech, on the grounds that regardless of whether the problem is covered by warranty or not, you're not going to be able to fix it yourself nor is it just going to go away. In my experience, they tend to be very generous and happy to help out, even if you tell them you don't have any cash to pay for a repair. :)

Booo! Bad taste! Bad taste!

Anyway, I remember this being a problem back when the TiBooks were first released, and subsequently when the AlBooks came out (since both materials are good conductors).

It sounds like something in the motherboard is touching part of the case, which it shouldn't be. Since your iBook has taken a lot of abuse, I assume that somewhere along the line something got misaligned or broken inside.

Take it to an Apple Authorized Service Dealer and see what they say about it.
