iBook wakes and then goes back to sleep

I have 10.3.4 . I just added a "managed" user account for my roommate so he can get onto my computer without my mess of a user account confusing him. Both accounts were logged in and the computer would be put to sleep since we weren't using it. Later on, one of us would open it and log in, and right after the desktop for the respective account would appear, the computer would go back to sleep. I'm wondering if the computer (G3 800 iBook) can't handle multiple user accounts. I only have 256mb of RAM. Any thoughts on why it's doing this?

Multiple users (admin, standard and managed) plus Fast User Switching no problem for my old iBook SE (466MHz Clamshell) maxed out with 320Mb RAM....

I've tried both with the charger plugged in and the charger unplugged and it does it. It's only when my roommate has his screen name logged in (with mine also running) that it seems to do this.

Could you possibly have some hot corners activated which would turn on your screen saver and thus, make you THINK that your computer was asleep?

Have you repaired permissions? Maybe try restarting and zap the PRAM as well... I think I had that same problem on mine (w/o multi user accounts). I believe after a good permission repairing and pram zapping/restarting, it all worked great.
