iCal Alarms in Every Space

I've tried asking this question on several forums to no avail. I'm not sure if that's because it's not possible, no one else cares about this issue, or because no one has come across the solution, but I will try here as well. I have Leopard 10.5.1 installed on my MacBook. I have assigned all but a few of my apps to various spaces.

In particular, I have an "Organization" space which has Mail, iCal, Address Book, and a couple of other organization related apps assigned to it. When I open iCal, it opens in the appropriate space. However, I would like my iCal alarms to open in every space (simultaneously displayed in all spaces). But I don't want to assign iCal to every space. Is there a particular helper app that is responsible for launching iCal alarms that I could assign to every space? Is there any other way of setting this up?

iCal's alarms are (probably) passed through /usr/sbin/notifyd which starts at system startup. It's not an .app so you can't add it to Spaces' customization panel.

iCal alarms, though, appear in the Space which was active when the alarm was triggered. So, unless you're changing spaces very rapidly and very often, and have too many of them, you shouldn't be missing iCal alarms with multiple spaces.
 
Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense - and basically tells me that if I want this feature, I will have to wait for Apple to implement it at a lower level (if they intend to implement it at all). It's not a big deal - it's more of a nuisance.
 
I have the same desire as you to see Apple fix this. It seems like hold-over behavior from the "pre-spaces era". I've missed appointments in the past due to this issue. Google has shown me no hacks to fix it either.

For what it's worth, the alarms are controlled by an application called iCal Helper, located at "/System/Library/Frameworks/CalendarStore.framework/Versions/A/Resources/iCal Helper.app"

Unfortunately, adding this app to the Spaces preferences has no effect. I don't know why. Maybe it's because it's not the kind of app that has a Dock icon and menu bar. *shrug*

Maybe this will give someone searching for a workaround a place to start. I have no idea where to go from here, though.
