Icalendar wont update

whenever I turn on the mac I have to specifically go and click the calendar so that it updates to the right date. Why wont it update automatically when I turn the computer on??
 
Are you talking about iCal? iCal default icon shows the 17th (the day it was created or released i think), that is normal behavior
 
oh ok well that's an annoying normal behaviour....it would make sense that it would automatically update no? thanks !
 
Leave the computer on over night with iCal running and see if it doesn't update.
