Ichat away messages?

you can't see them?

I put myself away ... and *QUIT* the ichat.

and still someone sends me a message.. surprise - ichat starts itself ... quitting is not enough. the only way to not be there is not start it at all, or then go disconnected.

if someone is idle, he probably isn't at his computer.. away seems to stay away. but uh, why quitting is not enough???
 
Because you haven't disconnected. To sign off, you must go 'Offline'.
Assuming that you have the iChat menu bar thingy that comes by default, then you can see when you are online. If it is black, then you are signed on, if it is gray, then you are offline. It is interesting to note that you can sign on and off through this menu, you don't have to open iChat.
 
uh, the only way to be working without interruptions is to select really disconnected. i have "offlife" as away status. and that0s not enough always... so surpriingly, a second nick that i use only in adium or something that i can set to work in only toc.
 
dont worry, i understood the question... :)

i have noticed the same thing myself from time to time, not always though - i think it only happens for the people on your list with older versions of aim
 
yea, for me it doesnt seem to work.. afaik i'm offlife and have quit the ichat i still get messages. like now i bet..

Hmm, i have about 100+ people on my buddy list. About half of them that are idle, all i see is their name: Idle: how long. They all have away messages on, but i cant see the messages if they are idle.


Is there a setting im missing here? My roommate is having the same problems.
