iChat white spots?

I have suddenly some white spots in iChat .. close to hte green/yellow/red status button, and the choose the status - the white spots are bigger for red/away options.

Anyone else had these? Any fixes? No, I won't reinstall 10.3 ...

Have you tried trashing the ichat preference from your home>library>preference folder?

tried that and trashing the ichat cache... nada.

if i choose use shapes to indicate status, the spots go away.
unchecking that, i see them again. :-/

ive seen them... but they go away for me after a restart of the app... and sometimes repair permissions
