I have installed an iSight camera. I have an AIM account. The first time I used it it was fine and I successfully made a video call. However, now when I log into iChat the buddy screen appears, but, the video, phone and text icons are not highlighted and so I cannot invite anyone for a chat.

I have accessed all the help facilities and the Mac iChat support but cannot find a solution.

I use OSX 3.9

Any advice would be most welcome.
 
Even if the machine is not on the network, when you plug in the camera and turn on the iChat the video should work.

If you goto iChat Preferences and then in the video tab you should see a working video of your camera.

If you do not see a video of your camera in the preferences then you are having a hardware problem and you will need to test out your equipment to determine what isn't working right.

This question might have been better posted in the Hardware forum, rather than the programming forum.
