Today, when I opened NeoOffice, the icon in the dock and also in my hard drive turned into a generic "A" for Application. This is an OS X application, but I tried rebuilding the Classic desktop, just to see if it would work. It didn't. Is there any way I can change the icon back to the real NeoOffice icon?

Dear Nixgeek--Yes, I tried repairing permissions from within Disk Utility (and then restarted the computer), but nothing changed.
Dear Ra3ndy--Yes, the NeoOffice opens as per normal.

I would have reinstalled it before posting my original query, but I've defined a lot of macros, and I don't want to lose them....

Aren't the macros stored somewhere in your home folder (~/Library perhaps). I would have thought that that's how it worked. I could be wrong though.
