Icon Question.

I've created some icons using the icon tools supplied on the developer CD which shipped with MacOS X. I now have a .icns file containing my icons. My question is how do I get the icons out of the .icns file and into a format which can be cut and pasted within the finder.
 
The icon composer makes icons for apps. Your supposed to put the file in the project file. I don't know how you can get the icon out but you can use another app like iconographer to make the kind that you want. I think ,but I don't know for sure, that iconographer can open the file created by icon composer and save it into a format that you can use.
