When I open a finder window (for example, double clicking on the hard drive icon), the icons have randomly shuffled their arrangement from how I had placed them. It will also randomly switch from list view to another view.
This does not happen all the time, but I can tell when it will happen. The clue is when I close the finder window it disappears instantly instead of quickly shrinking back to its icon.
I have a G5 using OS 10.3.9, but I had a similar problem on my G4 with OS 10.2.x. The only solution I found to try was arranging the window how I want it and then closing the window while holding down the control button. This did not solve the problem.
