iDVD '07 will not burn DVD

This is a question on behalf of a friend. He has made a photo project in iDVD with music and photos etc. He has then put in a blank DVD and set it burning, the disc spins for a bit then spits it out.

He has tried to make a new fresh file and tried to burn that and it did the same, so there is nothing wrong with the file.

I had this same issue a while ago with iMovie, Apple suggested trying another brand of DVD and this fixed it, but my friend has had success with this brand of DVD on another mac.

As far as I know he is running a MacBook with Tiger (not sure of the version, I suspect it will be the most up-to-date), iDVD '07.

Has anyone got any suggestions? He is at his wits end.

Well sometimes different things can effect the DVD to write. They included the DVD drive going bad, cheap media, etc. The first thing I would do is to reset the Pram and also run a CD/DVD cleaning disk.

Plus have him see if he can burn a CDR? The thing to remember DVD/CD drives can go bad and can be replaced.
