IE problem...

I've just been doing some development work in IE5.1 on my mac, I was creating a session/cookie manager in PHP when IE just stopped working, telling me that it couldn't load the requested page.

To work through the built-in Apache web server in OSX I use http://127.0.0.1/ but now for no apparent reason, this will only work IF I'm connected to the internet .. which isn't an option for a dial-up user like myself.

Question: why has this just suddenly happened and how can I put it back the way it was?..

It seems that if you register a cookie, then have it destroyed/removed and THEN try to work from your own local web server, IE "forgets" where it is.

The problem is resolved by connecting to the internet.

IE pauses for thought .. the spinning beach ball then everything is back to normal...

In a word: odd...
