IE window placement is annoying. If you open a new window, resize it and position it and then close it right away, the next window you open should pop up where it was. This doesn't stick very well, however.
Better solution: Get OmniWeb! It has an explicit command to set and save windows size and placement, and is a better browser anyway, in my opinion (although you may still have to use IE for compatibility reasons sometimes).
Frankly jeb I find your posts counter productive! First for offering as a solution to switch browsers and then to scold the poster! If you don't have something nice or helpful to say don't bother.
To get the windows in IE above the dock you can Hide and Unhide the dock by using the keys apple-option-D twice.
3mors, I've been trying to find where the IE preference is stored to try to figure out if it would be possible to lock the preference. I tried locking com.microsoft.explorer.plist but still the window location wouldn't stick.
Anybody have an idea where this preference is stored?
rb2u, I hide the dock every time I have to do a large use of IE.
It's a good way, but I don't understand why MS products hav to be different from all the other apps ... bah
jeb1138, I use ":-/" to underline an obvious answer, it's not a negative thing, but a way to change direction of the thread. I use "thanx anyway" to thank all the guys who tried to help me, but anyway the problem hasn't been solved. I don't want to be negative, I'm italian and here my behaviour on forums (":-/" and "ad ogni modo grazie") is considered a good one.
