i dont know if this has been posted before but if you look on the system req. on apple.com/ilife you will see that garageband and idvd have 4GB to install!!! damn...

It's been mentioned. It sounds as if it would be exceedingly difficult to run GB any smaller without sacrificing too much.

It probably depends on the amount of data you want to make available. Not related to the software but just to the data.

Well i suppose when you look at it there are over a 1000 high quality samples, so theres 2-3 gig straight away, then theres the themes for idvd which are not small, especially the animated menus. I ordered ilife O4 but it's not due to ship to me till 27/1/04 so i'll let you know when i get it file sizes
