I just bought this computer on ebay. It only came with 256k memory, could someone please tell me what type of memory I need to buy to upgrade this computer. I would like to upgrade to 1 gig but I read there was only one memory slot that I could get to so is 768k is far as I can go? , Could someone also e-mail on how to add the memory once I get it.

You actually have 256MB, not K, of RAM. 
You'll need a 512MB in the user accessible slot and a 512MB in the non accessible slot (underneath the user accessible one). Or just get a 1GB RAM (I assume your user accessible slot is empty?) and you'll run 1.256GB RAM.

1GB chips are not supported in that 800MHz iMac G4 - only 512MB in each slot. So, you can install up to 1GB total. Each slot takes a different type of memory, and getting at the internal slot requires application of heat sink paste when reassembling, so it's not as friendly to upgrade.
