My system went haywire and I needed to re-install my OS9.0 system. Previously I had loaded on OS9.2.1 and OSX. These I will reinstall when they arrive from my other address. However in the meantime I cannot print. I get 2 error messages:
(1) : i6500 Error Number D308, Printer not found, Go to chooser and select printer again

(2) An error occurred while printing SOCKS Proxy error.

I can highlight the i6500 icon in Chooser but it does not announce where it is connected to.

Please can someone help.

Much obliged

i'm going to guess that it is connect to your usb. with that said, os 9 has very, very bad usb support. in fact until 9.1 it is down right useless. goto apple and get the updaters to 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 (has to be done in that order) and it should help you. also double check to make sure that the usb drivers as well as the printer driver are in fact in the extensions folder.

Many thanks! You are probably right as I had 9.2.2 previously. Can I download 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 from the web prior to installing 9.1?

I have now reinstalled 9.1 and I can now print so you were correct. However, I am having problems installing 9.2.1 as the imac will not recognise the CD as the start up disc when I hold the C key down at start up as asked for in the installation. I thought I may have to go into ectensions manager to switch off non apple extensions but I cannot open this folder and there is an error message! Any suggestions please!
