I noticed some quite heavy static on my iMac TFT display. I left it off over the night but the static was still there. So now its turned off, waiting. I tried to search the Knowledge Base att Apple.com but didnt find anything.
I am almost scared to keep using it with the static still there.
Anyone have any information about this?

What kind of static? Interference, or the stuff that CRTs get that make har stand up and dust stick to the screen?

I would call it interference. Could be described as small (like 1,5 cm) horizontal lines.
I havent turned it on yet. Waiting to see if i get some feedback or find it somewhere.

Well, it could be that the connection in the stalke to your screen in loose. Unfortunately, it's not particualry easy to check, so APple will have to do it for you :D

I've had some nasty "static" issues with my PowerBook G3 back in '98 / '99… It was a loose cable connection or something. Replaced under warranty.
