hi .. I'm a newbie to the MAC world ..and it not looks easy ..my father in law has IMAC G4 but lost the OS and someone tried to help him and installed Linux ,and he don't have the recovery disk anymore to get back Tiger 9.2.2.

so my Q.s is :-
1- which OS will be better, Tiger 9.2.2 as it was before or a newer OS?
2- where i can find this Full "Russian" version of the OS ?
3- How to install it back ??, what to press and the steps if there is reference page will be great.

thank u for ur time

Firstly, you will need a RETAIL install disk. No other disk will work.
Secondly, Tiger will work quite nicely, but Tiger is OS 10.4, NOT 9.22.
Lastly, Insert the retail Tiger disk in your optical drive, hold down the 'C' key until the imac starts booting up to it. When finished, follow the directions on the screen for a full erase & install.

thank you so much .. but is there a full Russian version of Tiger OS ? I tried my best to ask the Apple.com but the site is looks like a puzzle keep return me to the start point

Tiger (MacOS X 10.4.x) comes standard with about 12 languages. That's simply to change the install to a different language. The menus and support files in the system (by default) include those for Russian, which can be turned on through the International pref pane. There's not a full Russian version of OS X, as far as I know.
