Imac G4 Screen Wont Light Up

Ok my computer worked perfectly fine up until i started it today, every thing works fine starts up how it should there is just no light to it. i can see everything if i hold a light up to it. so i dont know if there is a button i hit or what, but if you can help me in any way it would be very appreciated...thanks
