iMac G5 Does not stay sleeping.

Hi

recently purchased my Mum an iMac G5 running Tiger (no updates
to what it shipped with).

It goes to sleep happily (from the menu) but it wakes itself
up unexpectedly, usually after a couple of hours. It
is often not attached to the Internet (dial up) when this
happens. The only other peripheral is an Epson MFD.

I have not seen this particular issue in the Searches
I have done, mainly they seem to NOT wake up. This
one just seems to sleep badly, like me.

Dude,
I just went through that nightmare!!!! You are in for a fight with Apple....
My imac g5 was going to sleep by itself every 5 to 10 seconds....
I went to apple 5 times. they kept saying it was a software problem...
They told me to reinstall the os and that should clear it up.. WRONG!!!!!
I kept telling them it was the logic board and that it needed to be replaced...
it was only after the 5th time that i went in and told them that i reinstalled the os ( panther, then tiger ) that they agreed to not only replace the logic board but the power supply as well...
Good Luck and just keep after the Apple guys...
Tell them that you reinstalled the os and you're still having the problem
