My girlfriend has an imac g5 currently running panther. Last week she encountered an odd problem where the hd started filling up and it got to the point where there was no hd space available. I used her installation disk to reinstall panther and it's back up and running. My question is that she was able to obtain a tiger installation disk from her work for an imac g5. Since she also has an imac g5 i figured it would work. Well i tried and got a kernel panic. Is this possible to run this operating system on her mac?

She is running an imac g5
1.6ghz power pc
756mb ddr sdram

Yes, it is possible to run Tiger on her iMac.

No, it's not possible to use that install CD/DVD from her work to install Tiger on her iMac for two reasons -- one, it's against the EULA (one disk = one computer, unless you have the family pack), and two, you cannot use an Install/Restore CD/DVD that shipped with one model of Mac computer to install OS X on another model of Mac computer. More than likely they're different models of iMac G5, yes?
