imac g5 won't boot

I have an imac g5 (don't remember system software and can't look 'cause it won't boot!) when I boot in safe mode (hold down shift key) it starts with desktop pic but nothing else. In the top left corner first line is

system failure cpu 0 cod 00000007 corrupt skip lists

I've tried:
resetting smu
resetting pram
starting up from system software disk Tiger (have multiple computers and don't know if that's what's on this computer or not)

I either get
a gray screen with a power icon saying I should restart
a blue screen
desktop pic with above code
black screen

Looks like problem with cpu 0.
If you have any added RAM, remove it, and try again - (sometimes RAM errors get reported odd ways)

If you've got the system discs, try Apple Hardware Test (it's on one of the discs that came with that Mac) - extended test and looped mode (ctrl-L before starting test to loop). Try running it for a few hours. It will stop on error or when loop broken, with same shortcut. I'd suspect we would see the same cpu error (but I hope on the same time it's only RAM, not CPU...)
