A friend of me has an iMac that makes a strange noise when it is turned off! Only when disconnect it comletely the noise stops. What's wrong and what can be done about it.

What exactly is this "strange noise"? If it is a hssing that is normal. That is the power supply board or in towers the power supply. How loud is this nosie also?
