Imac stopped connecting to wifi

My Imac (2009 model) has all of a sudden stopped connecting to my wireless network after 3 months of consistent connectivity. I didn't change any settings at all. My Windows laptop and Iphone are both still able to connect to the network without any problems at all. I am using a Billion BiPac 7401 modem router, which has been brilliant since I bought it a year ago.

Since the problem began about a week ago, I have experienced occasional periods of connectivity (much slower than normal). However, most of the time the 3 bars in the top menu are dark black but when I try to access the internet, Safari comes up with a message saying that it cannot find an internet connection. Other times the 3 bars are greyed out and it cannot find the wireless network at all, and when it does, it says the password is incorrect or connection timeout.

I am totally stumped with this problem and I was wondering if anyone was able to offer some expert advice on the possible causes and how it can be rectified.
