image capture problem

when i try to scan photos using image capture, the overview scan works fine, and i can see the photo, but when i press scan, it goes through the actions, and the scanner goes to work, but after the scan is finished, my photo is nowhere to be found. it simply does not show up in the folder i specified. help please

I have been struggling with the same problem but it is actually very easy to fix. Ypo have to drag the cursor on the previewed page so to select the area you actually want to scan. Image capture will not as a default use the whole page. As soon as you have a selection the Scan button will be active.

I had the problem with Image Capture where the Overview just works fine, but the Scan stops right in the middle. I found it came from the 'Scan To Folder' menu, when the selected folder doesn't exist anymore, or when it has been moved elsewhere. Selecting an existing folder has solved the problem.
