iMovie 08 Not responding when Launched

iMovie 08 is not responding when I launch it. It's the latest update and it just sits there and doesn't load or respond. I have iLife 08 and the other apps with that bundle work Just Fine. I tried uninstalling and re-installing two times already, and the same thing happens again and again. I am at a complete loss as to what happened. The old iMovie from 07 worked just fine !! HELP ME PLEASE
 
Have you tried deleting the preference file? It should be something like com.apple.imovie.plist, but it might be different because Apple keeps iMovie '06 installed. The file is in (your home)/library/preferences.
