recorded viedo not showing up on desktop. using sony HDA 1080i/miniDV..No probs with stills and my screen says "camera plaaying. Where is the clip going

if you're using imovie, then the recording its making is going into your imovie project, and that would be where ever you told it to make your project. if you didn't change where it is keeping the project, then dafault is in your movies folder in your home folder.
