Impliment IPv6?

I'm thinking of changing my 192.168.x.x at work to a 172.16.x.x so that we have a larger subnet. However, should I just forget about changing it to 172 addresses and impliment IPv6? Or, does that fully work yet?

If so, then do you guys know any really good documentation on it? i mean, I want to make sure that I use designated internal IP's like 192, 172 and 10 is like.

What kind of OS do you have in the network?

IPv6 would be a nice to have feature, but if you have many older OS, especially Windows boxes IPv4 would probably be still a better choice.
10. gives a huge range and should be compatible with everything, I'd probably use that unless I could be sure that everything connecting to the network is IPv6 capable.
