Importing Photos from iPhoto

My imac crashed and now I am out of town and need to load up some photos on my laptop. I have the time machine version back up but can't find the images. Where are they stored?

/Users/[yourusername]/Photos

You should be able to launch iPhoto, then enter Time Machine by clicking the Time Machine icon in the Dock, and restore photos that way. There shouldn't be a need to manually search the Time Machine drive to recover the photos.

Can you explain in more detail? I have my time machine back ups from my imac on my external hard drive and I am trying to get the pictures into my laptop. I am not sure what you mean by clicking the time machine icon to restore.
