Importing .WMV vidoe clips within iMovie -- How to?

Hi Guys (and Girls ;-)),

A friend of mine imported video from a DV cam-recorder onto a WinXP laptop. Video clips were made on his machine using MS MovieMaker. Result: .WMV files.

Since i'm using iMovie, I would like to import the video clips he created with MovieMakee inside iMovie so that I can "merge" them with other clips I imported directly on my iBook.

Does any of you know if we can (if yes - how?) import clips made in MS MovieMake within Apple iMovie? Thx.

if you can open them in the quicktime player and then (if you have quicktime pro) export them as DV streams, you should be able to import them into iMovie
 
ffmpeg or mediapipe, quite sure the former works, latter's easier to use though.

most likely though, the quality difference will show up if you're mixing between the wmv and dv formats.
