Inability to Open 3rd party software

I am using a Powerbook G4, OS 10.3.9. I am unable to open Limewire, Adobe reader, Safari, Messenger, Mail about 2 months ago. Tried installing Java 1.4.2 upgrade, not successful. Tried reinstalling security update 2005 - 002, cannot install as it says I don't have earlier java webstart. Please advise. I could use all the above applications prior.

They may only work on 10.4+ now? What version of Safari are you trying to run?

How much empty space do you have on your hard drive? At least 10-15 % of the total disk size I hope.
Open Console (Application/Utilities) and see what reports there when you try to open those applications.

This started when I mistakenly tried updating the new Safari version a couple of months ago. This is when the problem began with the other applications. I have 14GB left in my hard drive. As requested, the report in console when I attempt to open Limewire
