My sister and i got video ipods for x-mas and i need to know how to download mine to the sysytem because she already did hers.

Not 100% sure of this, but one approach is to set up yourself as a separate account on the computer (if you are running OSX). Then I think your ipod and its files are stored in this users folder and is separate from your sisters(this is the case for iTunes Libraries of music - but we don't have the video). Use system preferences to set yourself up an acount.

you can have more then one ipod linked to the same itunes. the app is smart enouph to know they are different, and will give them different settings. remember, you can have all the ipods you want linked to one itunes, and with different things on each, but you can only link an ipod to one itunes install at a time. as soon as you link it to a new itunes install, the ipod will not update on the other install.
