Install 10.4.9 on G4 iBook?

I am considering buying a 1.2 GHz G4 iBook for around $650. The description says that 10.3.9 is preinstalled. Does anyone have experience upgrading to 10.4.9 on this thing? Thanks.

You'd need the retail version of 10.4.x for this. Costs 129 USD. I'd do a clean install then and update it to 10.4.9. Easy.
